Trevi Factory Teach You How to Clean Your Marble Sculpture

Directory

Trevi Marble Factory has been in the carving business since 1983, almost four decades ago. Specializing in marble sculptures. Figures, animals, fountains, pavilions, etc.

Marble sculptures are carved from natural marble and can be kept outdoors for years to come. But whether you keep your marble statues indoors or outdoors, they need regular maintenance and cleaning to maintain their smooth, sophisticated appearance. Marble surfaces can corrode and dull due to strong cleaning products and acids. Regularly clean your marble statue with a gentle, pH-balanced product that safely removes dirt and debris.

What you’ll need:

Mild dishwashing detergent or stone soap
barrels
Cloth or sponge
towels
Baking soda or clay powder
Hydrogen peroxide (12 percent intensity)
Plastic knife or spade
plastic film
tape

How to Clean a Marble Sculpture:

1: Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of mild dishwashing or stone cleaner and 1 gallon of warm water to a bucket.
2: Soak a sponge or cloth in soapy water and wipe down the marble statue. Rinse the sponge or cloth in the bucket often.
3Rinse the marble statue thoroughly to remove any residue, then towel dry.
4: Remove stains. Mix the hydrogen peroxide with enough baking soda or clay powder to make a thick paste.
5: Use a plastic knife or squeegee to apply a thick layer of the paste to any soiled area. Cover the area with plastic film and paste it in place. Allow the poultice to dry for at least 24 hours.
6, Remove the plastic film and check that the paste is dry. If not, replace the plastic wrap and let it dry for another 24 hours. When the poultice is completely dry, use a plastic knife or spatula to scrape it off the marble statue.
7: Rinse the plaster residue from the marble statue and dry it with a towel.
With such steps, you are sure to clean the marble sculpture in your home. Of course, don’t forget that if you buy it from TREVI Sculpture Factory, we can service your aftermarket.

A final reminder:

Do not use bleach, acids, or harsh abrasives on marble.
